Challenge #4: Draw something without looking at...
That’s right, take any object, person or general thing and then draw it but without looking at your drawing. This sounds hard, but an accurate drawing is not the point. Concentrate on form and composition, and your drawing will be a reflection of how your mind visualises objects. I think there’s going to be some interesting submissions this round!
Bonus points if you include/link to a...

Challenge #3: Draw your hand
We gave you a bit longer than we wanted to last time, so don’t be hasty this time as you never know when we’ll drop #4 on you. This time, the challenge is to draw your hand. Don’t be afraid to be clever. I’m not saying it has to be detailed, it just had to represent your hand using mark making. So you could even just do a handprint or something along those lines, get messy...

Mark Me: How-To
So I see you’ve found Mark Me! We hope you like the site. If you don’t; tell us what’s up via the comments.
Here’s how Mark Me works: Nathan or Sue (from SMILE) will lay down some form of mark making gauntlet. It might be to draw a shoe, or it could be something like draw a coffee cup using only squares!
Once the challenge has been posted up online (oh and you’re...
What should the first challenge be?
We’re taking suggestions on what the very first Mark Me challenge should be. Maybe it should be left completely open? Or maybe something completely niche?
Tell us what you’d like your first task to be.
About
Susan Coles and Nathan Monk started Mark me in August 2009 after an impromptu discussion about drawing. We had both been to design school to study visual communication but realised that we had both let our prior training in fine art go by the way-side. We wanted to start drawing again and regain some true draughtsmanship skills, and then we thought that other graphic designers may be in the same...
Rules
We’re not a big fan of rules (total rebels, we know) but there are a few ground rules that you should follow to keep Mark Me looking good. If you don’t follow them, then we might not publish your work.
Now these rules don’t dictate style, media or content. In fact, there’s really only one rule*: No unusual formats. Why? Look what happens when you submit a long thin piece...
Everything you can imagine is real.
